What I Learned From 60 Days of Quarantine

Business is important..but it sure isn't everything.

I admit, it's easy to get so wrapped up in tasks that we forget why we even have those tasks in the first place. Follow up with that email. Submit that offer. I just have to take this call. Business is important, but it's why we run our business...that's the important part.

This Spring, with the most popular fashions being pajama pants and home done haircuts, the lesson to slow down and refocus couldn't have been better timed.

This old basketball net. Well, it's new. My aunt gave this to us years ago when we lived in Howell. When we moved to West Belmar in 2018, so did it, but I just never could seem to find the time to put it up. This week, it went up. This week I decided to make the time.

The kids were elated. And I think this net is going to play a HUGE part in their summer plans.

Our woodland friends, the wildlife. Everyone who knows us knows our family is comprised of 4 animal crazy people...and with us all working from home now we took a huge leap to follow one of our passions; helping wildlife. We partnered up with Garden State Wildlife Center in Howell (check them out here) and so far we have helped over a dozen orphaned squirrels and raccoons get ready for the wild. This is easily one of the most rewarding things we have ever done.

BoHo Reno. What good is having a home, if you don't impulsively take a sledgehammer to it every now and again, am I right?

Our small kitchen served us well, but it needed a little love. We had simply too many cabinets, and accrued too much "stuff" (I am sure everyone can relate). So, we removed a row of cabinets and installed subway tile to the ceiling, we are building some BoHo shelves, and finally replacing appliances and flooring. It'll serve our space better, and really reflect our personal style to a T.

Last but not least, in need of some love...our family's car, Shelly. Shelly developed a pretty serious oil leak and just hasn't been running so well, so being we are working from home, the timing (pun) was perfect to rebuild her engine. The 350 will go back in after a reseal and new timing chain (that was the culprit!) but this time she's going back together with a 700R4 overdrive instead of the TH350. No more cruising the highway at 3500 RPM. Sheesh.

That's all for now. I have to get back to work. I have all these projects to finish. 😊
